Roy Keane has advised Liverpool manager Arne Slot that they should strengthen three main positions this summer if they want to continue to be stronger next season.
Although Liverpool have just won the league title for the 20th time, many people, including Keane, think that the team still has areas that need to be filled, especially after the latest game where they lost 3-1 to Chelsea, in which Slot rotated some players in certain positions.
Keane gave his opinion on Sky Sports, “Of course we have to strengthen to maintain the championship standard. Next year will not be easy. I think we may have to strengthen at left-back, centre-back and another striker because now that the team is the champion, it is the target of many top players.”
Daniel Sturridge also agreed that Liverpool should add another striker and also said that Ibrahima Konate’s contract must be extended as soon as possible.
“They definitely need a striker. Jota has done well, but Liverpool probably need to find a new striker. Or at least have someone back-up for Mo Salah,” said Sturridge.
“Get Konaté signed soon because he pairs very well with Van Dijk, that’s the key to success in this team. Having a reliable partner is very important.”
Jamie Redknapp also joined the chorus, saying Andy Robertson should not be overlooked amid links with Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez.
“Robertson is still playing well, a complete professional. โปรโมชั่นพิเศษจาก UFABET สมัครตอนนี้ รับโบนัสทันที Kerkez is good, a young version of Robbo,” said Redknapp.
Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike has also been mentioned as a possible replacement for the struggling Darwin Nunez. Redknapp
concluded: “No need to overhaul because we’ve just won a trophy, just make a few additions in the right areas.”
